Play. Learn. Connect. is this Friday at SciTech! It is also First Friday for downtown Aurora and the food trucks will be out in full swing. So, come see us at SciTech and check out all the delicious food trucks afterward.
 
Week of the Young Child 2018
We hosted our seventh annual Week of the Young Child Fair and it was a huge success! We had over 20 organizations that families could meet with to hear about resources in their community. We broke our record with over 350 attendees!
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) It is a fun-filled week celebrating young children and their families with hands-on, collaborative activities encouraging movement and healthy lifestyles through music, food, and art. VNA Family Resource Center
Our partnership with VNA to transform the waiting room to the new Play. Learn. Connect. Family Resource Center is underway and coming along great. SPARK and VNA have hosted orientations for our new Family Engagement Specialist Volunteers and our full volunteer training is underway.
The first training our volunteers attended was the Baby TALK training. Volunteers were taught communication techniques to support family engagement and approaches to working with families to building trusting relationships. We have an upcoming Parent Cafe training in June.
